KVH Technology Scholarship Applications Due April 17, 2015

STEM: Science Technology Engineering Math

Supporting the study of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) at the college level is of utmost interest to KVH Industries, as our engineers play a key role in our innovative products and services. We invite high school seniors who are planning to study a STEM topic in college to apply for the 2105 A.H. Kits van Heyningen Technology Scholarship, which provides $1,000.

Applications are now available by download here; the deadline for applying is April 17, 2015.

The scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving high school senior who will be attending a 4-year undergraduate science, technology, engineering, or math program in the fall. To be considered for the $1,000 scholarship, students must meet the requirements outlined in the application and must submit completed applications to KVH by April 17, 2015.

KVH started the scholarship in 2008 in recognition of the importance of science and engineering in the current and future success of the company, which is a leading source for mobile satellite TV and broadband communication systems, along with defense and commercial guidance and stabilization solutions. The scholarship is named for Mr. A.H. Kits van Heyningen, KVH’s late co-founder and chief scientist.

Among those eligible for the scholarship are students who live on Aquidneck Island or attend high school on Aquidneck Island as well as the children and grandchildren of all current KVH employees. While this scholarship is not solely need based, preference will be given to students who demonstrate a financial need.
