Last week, we published a letter from Joe Weissner, a Maryland firefighter who needed assistance with his TracVision R5SL satellite TV system on a vehicle he and his colleagues use to transport children with muscular dystrophy to summer camp as well as raise funds for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. It sounds like Joe and his team are keeping busy this fall raising awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association as well as the NFFF:
We are hoping to take the unit to New York on 9/11/2011 for the tenth anniversary of the trade center attacks and it will also be making three NSACAR races — the Dover, Delaware race which is the NFFF (National Fallen Firefighter Fund) event; Richmond, Virginia; and Martinsville, Virginia. We will also have the unit supporting the Tailgating Task Force at a number of NFL football games.
So if you’re in the area during these events, make sure to stop by the medic truck, say hi to Joe, and find out how you can help the MDA and the NFFF.
